Overview
We invest heavily in the training of our officers and external candidates. Our SLED-approved curriculum builds competent, customer-service-focused security professionals.
Security is a craft, not a uniform. Fortress Gold's training arm is a SLED-approved provider running NSW Class 1A and 1C licensing pathways from our Western Sydney training centre, plus tailored corporate programmes delivered on-site for organisations upskilling their own teams. Every cohort is taught by current Fortress Gold supervisors who still work the field — so what you learn on Friday matches what happens on Monday.
Practical scenarios, not slideshows
Two-thirds of class time is scenario-based: live patrols of our mock hospitality venue, conflict role-plays with actors, body-worn camera reviews and group debriefs. Theory is delivered in compact morning blocks.
Pathways into employment
Top-performing graduates are offered direct interviews with Fortress Gold's operations team. We also share the cohort with partnered employers across NSW — most graduates have a job offer in hand before licence cards arrive.
Refresher & supervisor tracks
Existing officers can book first aid, RSA and de-escalation refreshers individually. Our supervisor development programme covers rostering, incident command, client communication and basic employment law.

How much does the Class 1A/1C cost?
Pricing is published on enrolment. Payment plans and Smart and Skilled subsidies are available for eligible candidates — speak to our enrolments team.
Do I need experience?
No. Our most successful graduates come from hospitality, retail, defence, trades and aged care. Strong communication matters more than prior security work.
Is the qualification nationally recognised?
Yes — CPP20218 Certificate II in Security Operations is a nationally recognised qualification under the Australian Qualifications Framework.
Can you train our existing team on-site?
Yes. Corporate cohorts of 6+ can be delivered at your premises with content tailored to your industry — common for hospitality groups and retail chains.
